I listened to the singles a bunch of times and always felt like there was something missing, but couldn't figure it out. After reading the comments I realized what was missing was the entire presence of Alex. This in turn ended up making it even more boring than Lead Sails. I was even able to jam to Lead Sails for a few years after ultimately stopped forever. It's kind of sad when an Atreyu album would be much better with only instrumentals than with vocals. If I didn't love Long Live as much as I do, I would say it would have been better if they stayed on hiatus. Entirely because the lack of Alex, this is almost as awful as Congregation. Since almost all Atreyu is sick, I think it's a good idea to just call this a bad year, but if their next one is at the least almost as bad, then these guys are a lost cause. It almost feels like how I See Stars made a clean and acoustic album, which meant Zach and Jimmy were booted, since they weren't on it at all. That, in turn made the band go dump. Just as in ISS's case, getting rid of screams butchers the band. There's nothing wrong with Brandon's voice, but it's a LOT lower quality vocals without Alex. I suppose at least Brandon's vocals don't sound like he died inside like how Telle Smith sounded like after Deceiver's followup to Dark Matter. I'll keep this in my bottom 10 albums to listen to and instead listen to quality metalcore like Deceiver or The Poison.

Screw all these haters that miss the old Atreyu. I can’t find one song on this album that isn’t good. I love there old stuff but every band has to innovate and change there style to grow. Love it!!!

This is my first time listening to atreyu so this isn’t from a hardcore fan perspective so this will probably be a fresh take on the album personally I been listening to this a lot lately when I’m working out or gaming its pretty hyped not hardcore metal however like I was expecting it’s more mainstream radio friendly causal rock with a few exceptions but after listening to it for a few weeks I’ve noticed this album has a pretty repetitive formula for how they handle the chores and how they handle the more aggressive songs I’m personally of the opinion that most rock or motivational music have pretty generic lyrics and with this being both of those things that mean it’s very generic when it comes to writing there are a few tracks that honestly sound the exact same with the exception that the lyrics are different but they use the same formula and patterns as a previous song that being said it wasn’t a bad record I just felt it was repetitive with a few exceptions here and there

  • They Need to Stop Making Music

Blind, Deaf, and Dumb is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. Atreyu is still somewhat enjoyable sonically, but the minute they tried to go mainstream with Lead Sails, Paper Anchor, they were basically finished. Their music has gotten dumber and dumber. It's like they have nothing to write about, no inspiration, and they're just making the songs someone tells them to make. A Death Grip on Yesterday is one of the best albums in the genre, so I'm not a hater. This is just bad and it will make you like the old albums less. I actually feel sort of insulted by this album. If they have nothing left to say, they should stop making music. It's that simple.
  • Pleasant surprise

In a time where older bands are coming out with disappointing albums, this was a break from That trend. From Someone who hasn’t listened to Atreyu in a long while, this was a pleasant surprise

I’d think 4 out of 5 starts is a good placement for my review. Some of it is incredibly cool! I love “In Our Wake”, “Nothing Will Ever Change”, “The Time is Now”, “Anger Left Behind” and “Super Hero” (feat. my favorite singer in Matt Shadows of A7X). The rest will likely take time to grown on me... Great Album Atreyu and I liked the direction you went for this album.

Should’ve previewed a bit. Wish I could get a refund. Sounds like a tryout to be the next hit on a Marvel soundtrack
