  • This Is A Solid Album

I can understand why there would be some criticism towards this album but I think it’s misunderstood. This album is the result of the perfect blend of alt rock and a hint of pop and it works well. Honestly I think this is what One More Light by Linkin Park should’ve sounded like (not that I don’t like that album). This album has a lot of catchy tunes; The Ending, Who Do You Trust?, Feel Like Home, and Better Than Life are the ones that come to mind. I Suffer Well is pretty much Papa Roach’s take on Linkin Park’s War from The Hunting Party and I think that’s really cool. It’s fast pace and in your face. It’s a good song for sure. The rest of the album isn’t bad either. Elevate, Come Around, and Renegade Music are solid tunes. Problems and Top of the World are softer songs but they’re still good too. I haven’t listened to Maniac and Not The Only One much so I can’t give an opinion on those. Overall though I think this is a solid album. I can understand the criticism towards it but I don’t think it’s deserved. All of these songs are good in their own right and, as I mentioned earlier, they showcase a very good blend of alternative rock with pinch of pop (appealing to the current generation of listeners). I give it a 5/5.

If you haven’t seen these guys live your missing out. They put on one hell Of a show and Jacoby knows what he’s doing. The new and Old Papa Roach is amazing and they only continue to get better as their music chances and evolves. The reason Papa Roach is my favorite band is because they always get how I am feeling and this albums does that for me. I will always be a huge fan and can’t wait to see them live again.

So sick of it when bands replace the soul of there music with poppy beats and artificial sounds. First LINKIN PARK, then ADTR, then TAA, now papa roach. Wish they would return to the music that made them famous...tough, edgy, meaningful rock!

This is horrid... it’s like they went, “okay fellas... we have an audience of pre-teen girls we have to impress, let’s go get it!” This Cali pop Britney Spears sounds is nauseating... Wouldn’t even give it 1 star.

I’m taking this album as a homage. the Elevate song and -Top of the world as a tribute to Imagine Dragons. Like -Not the only one was ‘tribute to Blur (song2) And -Renegade music ‘tribute to Beastie Boys., -Who do you trust ‘tribute to RATM, -Feel like home ‘tribute to Foo fighters, -Maniac ‘tribute to The Pixies, -Better than life + The End ‘tribute to Muse, etc... I see why people compare when the sound/styles are so obviously copied and modified for Papa Roach rap Style. It is fresh only for them and younger audience maybe. I personally don’t mind the similarities to other bands out there. I follow them and I know they say they were gonna experiment with music styles they like. but it does make them seem desperate and lazy, not original at all, and taking on count that it only took them two months in the studio it is pretty understandable what they had in mind, I’d call it A QUICKIE, it isn’t a bad one, in fact it would’ve been a great album if any of those other bands didn’t exist at all. Or if people weren’t so uptight or smart. Me.. id be skipping so many songs if I buy this album so only buying a couple, Maniac Pixies style does it for me. Maybe next time just copy your old (papa roach) self. Infest songs are still relevant for a reason. Young people follow you and rock to those old school songs for a reason. You’re still playing them live to open or close your shows for a reason, your last album Crooked Teeth was a hit for a reason, you said it, (it was based on Infest) Because that.., your own papa roach music style is unique, no need to copy anyone else, evolve your own style not on somebody else’s and please tone it down a bit with all those electronic elements/sound/mixes and too repetitive lyrics if you want to keep your old fan base happy maybe? At least a little bit? :) See you on tour!

All the haters need to relax. It’s okay for a band to explore new directions musically and this album is awesome! I’ve been a guitarist for over 30 years and this is a very well written album that truly showcases the talent and diversity of this great band. 👍
