Such a great album and film. Animation and music took me back to the days of watching Akira, heavy metal and ghost in the shell. I’ll definitely be catching his tour.
Best record of his career so far!
Love the Pink Floyd vibe
Nothing country about this. Pink Floyd reboot. 👎🏽
Totally Awesome Coolness!
I have not listened to Simpson’s prior music and now I have bought three more albums of his.
This one album alone opened me up to his other music .
Ever since I was a kid I listened to a wide range of music from rock to folk to classical to rap to metal the list goes on.
I have always been a fan of anime since I was exposed to Akira and Ghost in the Shell.
Later exposure to the American animated film , Heavy Metal , had introduced me to many other music artists. Then from Pink Floyd comes the film of , The Wall.
Later films like the , Animatrix carried the torch.
Now on Netflix , Sound and Fury , continues the tradition combining music with anime. Wild , fun ride to watch as his music synced to the events.
Simpson’s style has changed like a chameleon .
As an artist He changed his pallet and conveyed a plethora of emotions and in doing so reminded me of many other musicians styles!
The Best Album
By Joseph Hughes
The best album that has came out in a long time!
I'm not sure what happened between this album and the last, but whatever it was, it wasn't good. The entire album feels like a bad 70's TV show song. Each song is remarkibly similar, with a never ending, nails on chaulkboard, electric guitar whaling in your ear.
What the World NEEDS
Sturgill 4 President! He tells it the way it should be. Love the sound but love the lyrics more. Can’t get enough 🙌🏻⛩🎚⚔️🔮
Quietest album I have from iTunes
I can't get volume out of this. I have full volume on my earbuds on my iphone and its not as loud as his other albums or my many other albums. Something is wrong. It obiovusly supposed to be played loudly and this isn't delivering.
I’ve never reviewed an album before but Sturgill has killed it with this one. The entire album is amazing. While there are some songs I enjoy more than others, I can listen to this on repeat and hear something different each time. Sturgill Simpson has really come out as his own artist and it shows in each song. Well done.
